Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the corporate accounting activities, including preparation and analysis of financial statements, general ledger maintenance and reporting. The position must have extensive experience with preparation of financial statements including the statement of cash flow, accounting close processes, reconciliations, process improvement and financial analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the execution of the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes including completing reconciliations, escalation and resolution of issues, and meeting all associated deadlines
  • Work collaboratively with the global technical accounting and reporting manager, accounting team and the finance teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements accounts including trade receivables, revenue recognition, debt, accruals, interest expense, intercompany eliminations and stock compensation expense; among others
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statement and footnote disclosures and other internal and external facing materials
  • Support the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all regular and ad hoc management reports
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors in completing audits providing appropriate insight and documentation
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, general ledger accounts, and financial reports
  • Perform monthly variance analysis on P&L and balance sheet accounts and field questions within the organization
  • Conduct balance sheet analytics and prepare robust commentary explaining variances
  • Prepare the financial statements for various legal entities and divisions, as well as the eliminations for intercompany transactions and the consolidated financial statements
  • Coordinate with internal departments including finance, sales, accounts receivable and inventory to complete tasks and provide information requested
  • Review processes and procedures within the department and provide input and insight to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes
  • Assist with the assessment and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, including leasing, revenue recognition, and credit losses

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Detail oriented with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proven track record for driving process efficiencies and solving problems
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work independently
  • Ability to independently work in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Team player who is optimistic and value-driven.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Experience working with financial system programs
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, advanced in Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
