Job Description

3rd Shift, 11pm-7:30am

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, the Lead Coating Operator is responsible for assisting the supervisor on a daily basis. Also, responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

This position is for 3rd shift; 11:00pm-7:30am.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager 
  • Required to competently operate coating machinery independently as well as within a team environment 
  • Must be able to perform any job in the coating department to include operating a coating machine, understanding production priorities, scheduling, and directing the team to accomplish a safe and productive shift 
  • Matches all labels with batch records 
  • Documents coating process information as per SOP 
  • Loads and unloads coating machine 
  • Monitors coating operation periodically and report any abnormal conditions to the manager
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance
  • Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred 
  • Ability to work 3rd Shift, 11pm-7:30am
  • Prior machine operator experience in a manufacturing or packaging setting required 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence 
  • Basic mathematical skills 
  • Must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions 
  • Physical ability to repetitively lift, stand, climb, bend, etc within a manufacturing environment
  • Position may require lifting up to 50lbs. 
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish)
