Job Description

The Site Continuous Improvement (CI) Leader is a member of that Site’s Leadership team. He/she will partner with the Site Leader (Plant or DC manager or other) in order to develop the site’s Master Plan and then will coordinate the successful execution of that plan. This leader together with the Site Leader will coordinate the building of CI capabilities and ensure the development and execution of the site’s zero loss journey focused on mitigating all types of losses at the site. He/she will be responsible to deploy and sustain the foundational elements of CI at the site.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the Site Leadership Team to conduct the site loss analysis and lead the development and execution of the Site Master Plan, implementing Systems and Tools to address site key losses.
  • Adapt and deploy continuous improvement methodologies to support growth and drive out targeted losses.  This may include but not limited to practices such as Lean, 6 Sigma, TPM, SMED, 5S, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Design, enhance, and implement Site reporting tools and systems such as production and OEE.
  • Lead or coach focused improvement teams while developing Associate skills in Continuous Improvement methods. 
  • Develop and communicate the site scorecard and coach the site team in analyzing trends and improving Site KPI’s.
  • Rollout and maintain a highly effective daily direction setting (DDS) routine at a site, business and operating team levels.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials to enhance Associate skills.  Develop a plan and maintain documentation of training events.
  • Collaborate with Site and Network partners to plan and execute capital and technology enhancements in support of product growth.
  • Drive a high performance culture in the site through visible servant leadership, promotions and other forms of communication.
  • Proactively seek feedback for system and tool effectiveness at the site and work to continuously improve standards and methodology.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Scientific or Engineering field preferred
  • Formal training in Continuous Improvement methods such as LEAN, TPM, 6 Sigma required
  • 5+ years experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • 5+ years experience using modern Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPM, 6 Sigma, TQM) highly preferred
  • Functional or Operational Leadership Experience
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines, and to coach others on doing the same.
  • Passion for building capabilities in others.
  • Willingness to accept change and ability to manage change
  • Project management: Ability to create project timeline and to make such a timeline get delivered on time.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) with excellent influencing ability.
  • Good knowledge of TPM and/or High Performance Organization Systems
  • Excellent project management and follow up skills
  • Highly energetic with a desire to engage in floor activities to support capability building events
  • Thorough understanding of the business and all manufacturing site functions.
  • Able to spend at least 50% of day on production floor.
